Age Group: Kindergarten – 6th grade

Time Needed: 30-45 minutes

Lesson 1

Title: Mac and Me are the Same and Different

Objectives:

Students will be able to name similarities and differences between themselves and Mac

Students will think of ways that all children are similar and different

Children will imagine how Mac feels when he is angry or sad


Lesson 2

Title:  What Is Autism?

Objectives:

Students will hear about Autism and other disabilities

Students will think of ways to treat children with disabilities or any differences using the “ASK” qualities of acceptance, sensitivity, and kindness


Lesson 3

Title:  I Can Help Mac

Objectives:

Students will problem solve ways they can help children like Mac with disabilities.


Lesson 4

Title:  I Can Play With Mac

Objectives:

Students will problem solve ways they can interact with a child like Mac or any friend they may have.


Lesson 5

Title:  “ASK” = Acceptance, Sensitivity, Kindness

Objectives:

Students will create a project displaying the qualities of “ASK” – acceptance, sensitivity, and kindness
